Alfred Pennyworth is Bruce's servent, as much as it seem that his job for Bruce Wayne mean that Bruce not respect him as a person, but Alfred is like a family to Bruce.

Alfred was working for Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne before they were killed, after that, he promised to help and raise Bruce like how he whould take care of his own son. once Bruce grew up and became Batman, Alfred made sure to help Bruce even at this dengerous job, and made sure Batman could function and was taking care for support while Batman is outside the Batcave.
